one of my bigger projects in the coming months will be removing what I fondly call "the prison bars" which separate the kitchen from my repurposed dining room. 80s/early-90s decor, sure, but it clutters the view.

as predicted the cat woke me at 4:50 instead of 5:50 which I understand, animals work off environmental cues, not clocks. but I really don't understand what she's come to associate with that time that she "knows" it's breakfast time. she's very punctual and I don't even use an alarm anymore.
