Ball x Pit is just want I need after playing a bunch of Yakuza games and DQ III HD-2D.

#BallxPit
I picked it up last night, I almost have 6 hours into it already. It is one of those games, just one more run and next thing you know, you just did 5 more runs. I got really hooked on Vampire Survivors, so not surprised mixing VS with Breakout got me too.
I wanted to beat the Monster Arena Tournament but to get the final 2 battles, you need to beat a post game boss =(

I have read the post game area takes 10-15 hours of grinding. DQ XI S had that too, so I never beat the final post game boss for that game.

DQ III is one of my most replayed games. I played it several times on the NES, GBC and recently on the Switch. This is a great remake. I missed collecting the monster medals (GBC). I want to do the post game dungeon but it is grindy.

I've heard great things about the story in Y6 and they were right. The story grabbed me, I just couldn't put it down. One of the best in the series. I played Like a Dragon before this, so I knew what to expect at the end. (1/3)
Since I was hooked on the story, I didn't do as much sub stories/mini-games compared to Y5. This was also my 3rd Yakuza game back-to-back. I did start The Man Who Erased His Name & restarted Like a Dragon but LaD kept reminding me to go beat Dragon Quest III HD-2D before DQ I+II comes out. (3/3)
Y6 is the first game that uses the Dragon Engine so combat felt like a step back compared to Y5 and Y0.

The Kiryu Clan mini-game was fun. I did all the story missions for it, I want to go back and beat the harder missions. (2/3)

Last gen I was an Xbox guy. The last 2 years I have been a Steam Deck guy. I want a real Xbox handheld! If it can't play my Xbox library, I'm not interested in it.
I have been playing Yakuza 6: The Song of Life this week. Hopefully I'll finish it today or tomorrow.

After that I should go back to Donkey Kong Country and Lunar: Eternal Blue. I'm near the end at both of those games.
I beat Yakuza 5 on Sunday and since then I have been so hooked on 6, I just got around to posting about 5 🤣

I'm at the final boss Yakuza 6. I think 6 might have the best story in the series.

I was so surprised how hooked I got with Y5. I hear Y3-Y5 are the weak points of the series. Y3 felt outdated, hopefully YK3 fixes the issues I had with it. Y4 had some cool ideas and was fun but I didn't get hooked on it. (1/4)

Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip
Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise

I also played Yakuza 5, Silksong, Blue Prince, Pac-Man 256, Cladun X3 and Donkey Kong Country.
The main story was very good. The scenes relationship between Kiryu and Haruka are great. The ending of Yakuza 5 is one of the best in the series, it made it so I started playing Yakuza 6 right away. (4/4)
Saejima's was a hunting game, I didn't care for it at first but it grew on me. Haruka's as an idol singer, so lots of rythme games. Shinada's is baseball. I want to go back and do more of Shinada's side story. (3/4)
With Y5 I did almost all the sub-stories and side stories. I tried out so much of the mini-games. All the characters except for Shinada had great stories, Shinada was okay. Kiryu's side story was being a Taxi Driver, one part of it was a mini racing game. (2/4)

I keep telling myself I'm going to go back to Silksong but after finishing Yakuza 5, that ending made me jump straight into Yakuza 6.
Main reason I needed to stop playing Silksong was it was hard on my eyes. I'm in my mid 40s and my eyes are changing again. After playing those dark areas and trying to read the item text (normal text is fine), my eyes were hurting. I have about 20 hours into the game and was really enjoying it.
I liked the SNES for the RPGs, Mario, Zelda, Pilot-wings and the Genesis for the RPGs, beat 'em up and with the 6 button controller it was great for fighting games. The 16 bit era was my favorite gen until recently. The last 10 years have been amazing.
Both were great consoles but I was a TG-16/TurboDuo kid.

Ys Book I & II, Ys III, Exile, Exile: Wicked Phenomenon, Lords of Thunder, Bonk/Zonk series, Dungeon Explore I & II, Bomberman '98, Cadash, Super Star Soldier, Bloody Wolf. I even imported the Arcade Card for Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting.
I'm going to go with it will be really good. So far all the mainline DQ games have been good to great.
Game Pass hasn't been worth it once it jumped to $20. This is just fucking greed. Xbox is milking their hardcore fans. It is sad to see what is happening to Xbox. Last gen I was a big Xbox One fan because of BC and free cloud saves. So glad Valve released the Steam Deck.

The Yakuza series is one of my favorite series so this was a nice break from streets of Kamurocho to post apocalyptic city of Eden. I've read the first 9 volumes of the manga (1/6)
