The project underscores Earth Trust’s commitment to inspiring positive change and equipping communities to address the environmental challenges of today. The roof has a distinctive shape, curving upwards in an elegant arc that adds a dynamic architectural element. This is Tam, one of Agile Homes’ housing types. Tam is moveable. The picture shows two Thames in different locations, modern interior and a set of plans for a 37 m² one person one bedroom home.

We call these homes Tam, & they can move!

Acoustics are exceptional. Low VOCs & formaldehyde, improve air quality. Reduction in radio frequency interference, eg WI-FI does not propagate through the external walls, which for some is helpful.
Moisture management, rendered straw walls breathe moisture in sync with the environment.

Living in a straw bale home in this weather would be crazy, right?
Wrong!
Straw changes its moisture content in sync with its environment.
As it does this, there is heat exchange at a cellular level within the fabric of the straw itself!
It keeps you cool in summer & warm in winter!

With perfect timing on the same day Rachel Reeves announced £39 bn for new homes, we signed an agreement for a significant investment. I’d like to say we planned this with the Chancellor, but I can’t! Instead it’s a synchronicity win!
The investment comes with a £25 m fund to pay to build new homes!
