Spotted this great (and so thorough!) interpretive sign at Farm Fresh Rhode Island in Providence today. The former industrial site is a prime example of green urban redevelopment.

This front yard was formerly all turf grass; now it’s a native meadow featuring prairie plants whose deep roots allow them to perform beautifully without so much as a drop of irrigation (This view is from the end of May 2023).
