This Testament album is a really good comeback for them. Their discography is up and down and this is definitely an up point. I’m not sure it’s as innovative as what some of the younger bands are doing in the space, but if you just want some Testament updated for 2025, this is nice. #metalsky

Yeah I listened to Umbilical a bunch when it came out, I really need to go back and listen to more of their stuff. I’ll check out that LP with Mizmor.

Listening, live, this is one of my favorite NIN songs… oh this is interesting. Dark. Interesting cleans. Can they get the chorus nasty? Oh yeah that’s filth. Second verse is jarringly intentionally offbeat. Sort of acid bath vibe? God this chorus vocal is sick. Love how they did the entire. A+

Total agreement in all you wrote, including the mild defense of Sleep Token, who are not my cup of tea but played in obscurity for two albums and are definitely not plants. But President just feels manufactured, including the music. If I described generic alt metalcore to someone that’s President.
