We used to have a couple of rookeries in my neighbourhood (NW PL) but they’ve both gone over the past 10 years and now we mainly have Hooded Crows. The Jackdaws have also dropped in numbers, sadly.

Magnificent animals! Here in PL we have a couple of wild herds that are supplemented by breeding programmes, one of which is near Mirosławiec. They also breed Lynx :)

I understand your concern but at the moment the only party I believe is advocating for leaving NATO is Your Party.

The Greens are not currently advocating for leaving NATO. Their 2024 general election manifesto explicitly recognises NATO’s role in protecting member states and supports remaining a member.

Thank you so much for sharing these important matters - it’s as if they don’t exist and aren’t important when they potentially affect 50% of humanity - obviously we brush it off in the Western world but Margaret Atwood has shown us how it could go very wrong even in these places.

After taking the waters this afternoon, have decided that taking the beers is preferable 😹

Today I have been ‘taking the waters’ at the Spa towns of Duszniki-Zdrój & Polanica-Zdrój. The pump rooms are open daily - you pay 3PLN (about £0.60, €0.70, $0.80), take your paper cup & fill it up with all the mineral goodness! The water comes from the local spring(s) & has different properties 😺

The pump room at Duszniki Zdrój serving water from the Jan Kazimierz and Pieniawa Chopina springs. Here you can see the water flowing from the different fountains - you take your cup and help yourself, although they do recommend you don’t drink too much at once because of the high mineral content.

In the Spa Park is a statue of Princess Agatha Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, whose frequent visits to Duszniki-Zdrój (then called Bad Reinerz) brought a welcome boost, both financial and reputational. She was present at the ceremonial opening of the spring, which was discovered in 1910. Here you can try the water that pours out of her umbrella into the drinking receptacle. The water is a calcium-sodium-magnesium brine with a brown colour and is naturally lightly carbonated.

I think everyone at school should be taught the basics of economics - I reckon many people, especially those who may never have had to deal with a mortgage, never mind invest in bonds etc, would benefit and be less likely to vote against their own economic interests.

Yes, there are some hallucinogenic mushrooms but I don’t think Fly Agaric’s one of them! The article’s hypothesis is much more likely 😺
