I'm almost done with Debt: The First 5000 Years, and it had a great quote from the next book on my TBR pile. #booksky

My latest haul from the bookstore.

My wife and I got to see Susana Morris talk about her biography of Octavia Butler. It was really interesting hearing her insights into Octavia. And she signed our copy!

1/6 A few months ago I read They Thought They Were Free, a collection of interviews of ordinary Germans who lived through Nazi rule.

One chapter in particular stood out to me. In it, a German recounts how he and others stood by while fascism grew in Germany.

I just finished the second book in the Expanse series. These books are gripping! Even if you don't typically like sci-fi books, I recommend these. I had to remember to breathe during the last chapters! #booksky

Just finished this and I highly recommend it. I took lots of notes.

"An inspiring vision for how to orient our lives around gratitude, reciprocity, and community, based on the lessons of the natural world."

It's short and sweet, only 112 pages, and the illustrations are lovely.

A passage from The Coming of the Third Reich, a history of the rise of the nazi party. Seems relevant to our current situation... #booksky #books #politics #history
