Fun first game for Nolan Minessale with St. Thomas against a good Saint Mary's team. Minessale got to the rim whenever he wanted, showcased some fun passing flashes, consistently finished at the rim, and the shot off the catch looked much more comfortable than last year.

Ryan Rollins has been terrific for the Milwaukee Bucks to start the season. I broke down how he's made an impact and why it feels more sustainable rather than just a hot start. www.noceilingsnba.com/p/the-reviva...
The Revival of Ryan Rollins
Ryan Rollins has gotten off to an electric start to his season for the Milwaukee Bucks. Is it sustainable, or is it or just a two-week stretch of brilliance?

Trey McKenney looked great for Michigan yesterday with 21, 4, and 2. He had a shaky preseason so great to see him bounce back immediately. We knew he could shoot/score, but his passing creativity and defensive intensity really popped for me.
🚨New Film School🚨

Koa Peat had a historic debut as Arizona took down Florida in an incredible opening game. I broke down how he dominated and already answered a ton of questions I had coming into the season. youtu.be/CcNQqRC4Igs?...

This is the exact type of debut I was hoping we'd get from Koa Peat. Buying into being an elite role player, buying into the defensive end, and consistently doing the little things. He's been fantastic and bullying Condon all game.

Ryan Rollins rocks. It’s so good to see him find his footing again and really carve out a meaningful role. He’s been so good to start the season.
Adem Bona was a MONSTER tonight! This has always been an Adem Bona household and it's very cool to see him getting bigger minutes and making a huge impact on defense like he did in college.
It's crazy how good Tyrese Maxey is looking this year. Just everything he's doing feels so much faster and more decisive. Obviously he moves fast but even his passing reads, shot selection, cuts, etc. all feel a lot quicker. Always cool when we can see the game slow down for guys
Meleek Thomas may have one of the quickest releases off the catch in the country this year. Really enjoying his off-ball shooting so far and how that could open up more of his on-ball creation down the road attacking closeouts, DHOs, etc.
🚨MULTIPLE BILLY RICHMOND 3s IN THE SAME GAME🚨
Laughing at how violent of a jab step rip through this is by Darius Acuff. Completely shakes his defender then has the strength to finish through contact at the rim.
Since he's been thrust into this pseudo-PG role, though, he pretty clearly (and understandably) looks sped up and is trying to do too much. I'm not worried about it long-term, that switch will inevitably flip.
I get those same vibes from his first few games with the Mavericks. When he plays simple, he's making good decisions, smart passing reads, and getting good looks.
Cooper Flagg's start feels a lot like it did at Duke where he had some shaky starts against top competition despite some of the numbers he was putting up. In those games, he looked like he was overthinking things, trying to do too much, and was figuring out the speed of the game.
Good fight but not a shocking result for the Timberwolves. They just didn't have the fire power to counter an absurd Murray scoring performance. Also too many DEF miscues with their scramble DEF, highlighted by Denver's 52% shooting from 3.
Wolves are doing a great job attacking the rim where they're shooting 77.8%. They're making Denver's bigs work on defense and they aren't providing much resistance.

On DEF, even though DEN is getting 45% of their shots at the rim (94th percentile in frequency), they're only shooting 47.6%.
That's a great first half for Julius Randle. Playing with a ton of energy, playing simple, and worked his butt off on defense.

The Wolves' non-Gobert DEF looked better once they switched Randle on Jokic to provide a bit more physicality w/ Naz roaming off-ball.
Solid Rob Dillingham minutes so far. Playing within himself and making the simple reads. The one time he tried to do a bit too much resulted in a TO but has created good looks for others in the PNR and transition.
Donovan Mitchell's handle is filthy right now. Just some absurd shot creation busting out a Shammgod then a high gather in back to back possessions.
Totally normal sequence for Victor Wembanyama. What a time to be alive lol
