I thought Sorloth was pretty unlucky. I fairly rated him. Had a goal mysteriously disallowed at Bridge. Had it gone in he may have built on it and stayed longer

Re JSL... I wonder if the failure of a big move to Toon set him back? It shouldn't be an excuse, but footballers are human too.
Might a fresh start, in a better team (albeit one not currently creating many chances at all) reignite last seasons form?

He is a slave to his system & doesn't want mavericks. Was happy to see Ebs sold. Had no patience with Esse, exiled JRS, no time for Franca.
Now I'm not saying any of those are world beaters but they could offer creation.

He got one of JP's mates off a charge, years ago, & JP made him his agent to thank him.
AFAIK this is still his agent. Not a football agent, & appears clueless on the football world.

But my feelings we'd be better off in Europa than ECL as a result of so many 'worse' sides frustrating us with a low block mean we were unlikely to get very far.
Far better against sides like LFC & Villa, who are 'better' than us, but we beat.
