What does not fit in this thread? Well, Typst! Today, Typst has reached and exceeded 50K stars on GitHub.

We could not have asked for a greater closure of the year! Thank you: We could not have done it without you! 🫶

Perhaps uniquely pertinently, there are just 121 stars in the video game Super Mario 64.

And even entire nations exist below the venerable 50K threshold: The European country of Liechtenstein has only 40,032 inhabitants.

If you think of abundance, you might think ocean. Yet, there are just 33K species of fish currently alive!

If we fall short with time, how about language?

Fitzgerald’s classic "The Great Gatsby" straddles 50K words with 47K words on about 180 pages

Here’s a thread of things that are less than 50,000

To start with, the release of the last Beatles studio album, "Let it Be" in 1970, was 20,325 days.

I'm allocating a little budget to sponsor some folks who do important FOSS work.

If you know some people who aren't yet getting enough love yet, send me their accounts.

Especially if they work directly on or adjecent to @typst.app @rust-lang.org and jujutsu (the vcs).

We actually put a lot of care in ensuring that Typst _is_ safe to run on untrusted input. It's fully sandboxed.

HTML export from the same source as PDF is a thing. HTML files are a good starting point to create an ePub eBook. However, some manual work is going to be required, at least to attach the cover.

After HTML export is more mature, we will look into native ePub export!
