Working class is a necessary agent for capitalism to exist.
Without a working class goods couldn't be produced in mass, before capitalism was well established there wasn't really a working class except perhaps for guilds, but they were not really exploited by somebody with money systematically.

She wants the UK to become some kind of New Belarus.

No thanks.

It's an invention in the same sense as the number π is an invention.
tzctblue.bsky.social
It isn't an "invention", the term was born out of careful and considered observation of how capitalism works.

In Mexico all public schools are secular.
We are talking about one of the biggest Catholic countries, whoever doubts how devout people are they can witness one of the uncountable religious festivals. There religion is a private matter (many private schools have a religious slant, paid by clients).

I don't know what would be courageous about objecting strongly with Israel allowing this convicted criminal, supported by a foreign oligarch, to go there.
If it was me I would look if I can ground him in the UK. They do it with hooligans, why not him?
tzctblue.bsky.social
Why does she pussyfoot around who this individual is?
All these are facts widely documented:
He's a convicted criminal.
He's been associated with other criminals, including sex offenders.
He leads a lavish lifestyle in Spanish resorts and posh London restaurants.
She should grow some spine!

Many scientists support the idea of the fluidity of human genders, don't embarrass yourself in public trying to represent the totality of scientific knowledge about a field in which clearly you aren't conversant about the topic.

The EU discovers ISAs.

While Labour announces forced labour in the form of mandatory "volunteering".
What kind of distopyan imbecile gave her this idea?
What about this minister:
*everybody* in the UK is forced to volunteer?

I think the correct definition for him is a xenophobe.
I've no evidence to believe he's a racist, but probably we are talking semantics here.

I've a soft spot for both "Cassandro the Exótico" (a documentary) and "Cassandro" (a dramatisation) about the same gay Mexican wrestler.

I'm not stating an opinion, I'm describing situations which I've witnessed, the most sobering one was about seeing AI doing in seconds a film summary, directly from the video, that used to take a person several hours. Those jobs are gone (mayor UK cable TV company) never to come back.

This is everywhere, pretty much all accounting systems consider investment a capital cost and it will be deducted from your turnover thus reducing taxable profits. Some countries even will give firms tax breaks for investing. It is a win win for the corps...
tzctblue.bsky.social
Half of Labour would refuse to support that.
They don't have an ideology nor a vision of the country they want which is why they have to "borrow" from Reform and the Tories.Xenophobes will opt for the real thing.
People with left of centre leanings should reassess if Labour is representing them.

With a written constitution the people have a fighting chance to oppose authoritarian measures, even Trump is having to yield to the legal process so not everything he says is gospel, without a constitution all it takes to violate people's rights is a minister decision or a vote in Parliament.

I dislike Farage with a passion, but what you are saying is inaccurate unless you have more information about his proposals.
I had ILR when I left the UK and I'll have both my state pension and at least in Spain NHS paid health cover in the equivalent service in Spain.

I see it used daily.
A colleague takes screen pictures, she doesn't even cut and paste, feeds them into AI, and asks questions about error messages, problems, etc.
I've developed programs in obscure languages and I'm not a programmer.
I know of non technical jobs gone because AI.
Future is now.

They don't need to evade tax, they use investment as a tool to have little tax to pay (investment in new businesses is a cost that offsets profits, thus reducing tax intake).
Probably every single new AI data centre is supported in the form of reduced tax intake somewhere, all perfectly legitimate.
tzctblue.bsky.social
You're totally mistaken.
The only jobs safe are the ones that require a physical intervention to be done: a chiropractor can't be "AI-ed" out of a job.
Builders, plumbers, sports people, child carers.
But almost anything else that can be done sitting in a desk is susceptible of human job losses.

It's karma.
Copyright is set in abusive terms, cultural assets that should have been in public domain stay in private hands that have nothing to do with creators (currently 70 years after death of a book's author, that goes beyond her grand children who wisely sell rights).
Sorry but no sympathy.

I don't recognise this, people in the services industries, specially in Information Services, are talking of nothing but AI, I've been in massive conferences in a country in the periphery of AI (just consuming it) and the whole thing was geared towards AI in all kinds of different ways.

In Europe those data centres have to meet government approval (often at the local level).
A Microsoft one was rejected on the basis of its energy demands. Microsoft just decided to create its own (green) energy source by the side of the centre.
Unfortunately in US and China this isn't happening.
