Southwest center has helped farmers purchase cold storage for vegetables, Tracy Celio @ucanr.edu said. The hub helped one producer lease a vehicle to take produce to market. Another purchased a grain mill and was able to deliver product to a nearby school, reports @aallyahpatrice.bsky.social

Black farmers are losing more federal support as the USDA eliminates 12 Regional Food Business Centers across the country.

These centers helped launch new farms and food businesses, business and marketing support.
