More than 30 employers visited #UGALaw for our recent Career Day, where students met with attorneys and alumni from a variety of law firms and organizations spanning an array of specialties and locations. It’s always great to make new connections and expand your network!

Several #UGALaw students recently took part in a Professional Mentor-Mentee Mixer in Atlanta. The Mentorship Program is one way the School of Law supports law students towards building a successful legal education and future career.

Who else but Elle Woods could teach law students the value of understanding perms and that a little pink goes a long way? #UGALaw recently turned the walls of the law library into a movie theater for a showing of Legally Blonde to help students unwind during the semester.

Students at #UGALaw recently had a chance to take part in a clinic town hall where they learned about the more than 15 clinics and externships offered by the School of Law. During 2024-25, students engaged in nearly 82,000 service-learning hours.

The Public Interest Law Council at #UGALaw hosted an ice cream social last Friday to cap off Public Interest Week, giving students a chance to unwind with a sweet treat on a warm afternoon.

For the 12th consecutive year, #UGALaw grads have led the state in the Georgia bar exam passage rate for the July sitting. They posted the highest rate for first-time takers among the state’s law schools & exceeded the overall passage rate by more than 6%. law.uga.edu/news/79658

Earlier this week, #UGALaw hosted a bipartisan panel of attorneys with different roles in the Georgia General Assembly. Joe Lenoff and alums Sam West (J.D.’22) and Hayley Williams (J.D.’20) spoke to students about their careers and journeys to working in the state legislature.

The U.S. federal court system was established on this day in 1789, when President George Washington signed the Judiciary Act of 1789. Now, 236 years later, #UGALaw is proud to share we were recently ranked 16th in the nation for the number of alumni who are sitting Article III judges.

The climb means different things to different people. Some ROTC participants chose to add even more strain to the climb this year by carrying 35-pound rucks, a nod to the weight of the gear first responders shouldered on 9/11.
