@marcmorris.bsky.social Will you be doing a castles tour of Wales to mark the occasion of my 50th birthday in 2027?
ultrasteve.bsky.social
I think it depends a lot on the servers you’re on. Some of the ones with fewer channels are much easier to manage. Once you can let go of the feeling you need to be across everything all the time it becomes much easier.

A more unusual game from times past. If you like your whodunnits have a watch and see if it’s one you’d like to try!

NEW VIDEO!

Artech's Killed Until Dead does something unheard of for a murder mystery: trying to be a stop-the-who'll-do-it, instead of a whodunnit.

This look is mostly focused on the #C64 original, with a little compare to the #AppleII and #ZXSpectrum conversions.

What a series. Thoroughly loved every minute of it. Thank you all for creating it. Also, please bring back the shop so I can buy a 16 Sunsets t-shirt!

I thoroughly recommend it, and so glad you stumbled on my post! I really hope you enjoy it. Makes me sound like a shill, but I genuinely loved Leonard and Hungry Paul, and also Panenka by Rónán too - so if you like Ghost Mountain, give them a try too!
ultrasteve.bsky.social
Thank you! Still on it and having a very relaxing one.

I just finished Ghost Mountain by @ronanhession.bsky.social - another triumph. I read it on holiday. Which is different to saying it’s holiday reading. It’s a thoughtful, beautiful book, and will stay with me a long, long time. Thank you, Rónán, and thank you @ofmooseandmen.bsky.social

I did! Nice touch!

Thanks for the new issue, @freeze64.bsky.social! I had a bit of a soft spot for Ninja Master as a kid (see Jaz’s CcrapBack!) so honouring it with this picture!

Having waited patiently for the paperback from @ronanhession.bsky.social I started last night, and I’m going in again! Also, after months (nay years) of telling my other half she should read Leonard and Hungry Paul, someone else in her book club chose it. They all unanimously loved it (obviously)
ultrasteve.bsky.social
That’s quite the selection! Nice one!
ultrasteve.bsky.social
Ooooh. I haven’t read that yet, but loved Doppler by the same author, if you fancy some more.

NEW VIDEO TIME!

You might think that subgames in 8-bit games are a lazy excuse to avoid depth (see Ocean's output), but @stinkyox.bsky.social's Batalyx shows they can make for some intriguing ways to get zapping!

Thanks for the new issue, @freeze64.bsky.social - and for featuring my mini-review!

No way I’m taking that bet on of you have 31 micro computers or not 🤣
ultrasteve.bsky.social
Perhaps it’s just the distributor they use, then. No matter, they’ll get me one soon, I’m sure!
ultrasteve.bsky.social
Tried to order the paperback of Ghost Mountain by the wonderful @ronanhession.bsky.social at my local indie bookshop today. Temporarily unavailable. This must mean he and @ofmooseandmen.bsky.social have sold a ton already. Which is obviously fantastic news!

oh no, who let me be in charge again?

That's right, from one smol comment we get an episode contemplating the rose coloured glasses, and I get to lead in on just how the old days weren't the good old days people think they might be.

Hot off the presses is the latest Scanlines up early for supporters on Patreon!

Pastfinder might look like a blaster, but it carries that 8-bit thing of having more depth than you might have first thought. Here it is on both the Atari 8-bits & C64!

Oh yes, that too. Mine 'opens' at 07:30 - yesterday I was on at 07:34 and got 'all slots have gone'. But then if you do call, you're greeted with 'you're number 349 in the queue, unless you are medically dead, you might want to try again later'.
ultrasteve.bsky.social
That is just brilliant.

Some of the questions it asks are maddening (and could, I'm sure, lead to a situation not dissimilar to your prediction), especially when you just want the freeform text entry box it gives you AT THE VERY END to make your sensible, informed request.

I had to log on at 07:30 and run the gauntlet of the AI-driven 'consultation' system at mine. What a time to be alive (and need access to healthcare).
