UMass comes in at 196 in the initial KenPom rankings, 7th in the MAC. They should be much better than that and the number is likely a reflection of major roster turnover. Finishing the year at 196/7th would be a disaster.

The Bryant loss was the worst loss in UMass history at the time. Is giving up 42 (and counting) and not being able to muster a TD against Kent St, a team with an interim coach that hasn't won an FBS or MAC game in literal years, the new rock bottom?

One of the many signs of how bad a program UMass football is, is that helmets come off multiple times every game.

Are they not fitted right, are they not strapped on, what's the deal? Just one of those symptoms of a program on its death bed.

And once again, Coach Harasymiak forgoes an easy FG to keep it a 2-score game in favor of a 4th down that gets completely blown up and results in a UMass fumble that goes backwards like 20 yards.

Such a shame to have Mendes back, finally get to use SPECTRE/Blofeld, and you end up with this. The train sequence is excellent though, largely due to their being on a train.

This would be one heck of a scoop. Nobody knows how much they have or where it came from. Bamford loves to throw out numbers without any basis for them

I assume the Mass Collective is still doing their thing, but probably lost some donors since the announcement that the school would handle things

I think the reality is that the MAC move, and to a lesser extent Harasymiak being in his 1st year, gave Bamford a 2-3 year leash. The powers that be will see this year as a wash, and then years 2 & 3 will need to yield tangible results.

I don't think he's getting fired in '25/'26.
