UMBC opened its doors 59 years ago today on what had previously been 432 acres of farmland. We had 750 students, 45 faculty members, 35 support staff, and 3 new buildings. Today, enrollment is strong at 13,530 students, with more than 100,000 alumni. Look how far we’ve come!
