It hasn't been until recently that people are actually sitting down and contemplating reconciliation.

Colonizers came here, stole our land, and then actively tried to steal our identities.

Residential schools were established with the explicit purpose of whitewashing First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.

The 60's Scoop, which my father was a victim of, was a mandate which "scooped" up indigenous children from their families and admitted them into these glorified prisons. (2/3)

If anyone tries to convince you that the mistreatment of North American indigenous peoples is "in the past," remind them that the last Canadian residential school only closed in the late 90s.

Fun fact!

Despite getting all this steamy art, I don't actually produce much body odour irl. Never have!

I'm not sure why! My father's the same way. It doesn't matter how much we sweat; we don't really stink afterwards.

I remember going 5 days without showering once, and no one could tell. :3
