The days are growing shorter. There’s a crispness in the air. Pumpkin season is just around the bend, which means the Owl Research Institute’s (ORI) Saw-whet Owl fall migration station is underway at FLBS!

Yesterday, members of our FLBS team had the pleasure of setting sail with Go Sail Flathead Lake to celebrate our new partnership! We’re grateful to build strong connections with local businesses and communities around beautiful Flathead Lake.
A tremendous thank you to the amazing teams who organized, coordinated, and hosted this year’s Flathead Lake Run in Lakeside, MT and Flathead Cherry Festival in Polson, MT this past weekend! We had a blast joining in the fun and are deeply grateful for the continued support!

Summer Update with FLBS Marketing Intern Grace Porges: Earlier this month, our Aquatic Microbial Ecology class hit the water on McDonald Lake to collect samples in order to study the lake’s nutrient dynamics and microbial communities. Hands-on science in one of the most beautiful classrooms on Earth
Fair winds and following seas! While the wonderful collaboration between FLBS and Go Sail Flathead Lake has been ongoing, next week the two partners will set sail on an exciting new adventure in search of answers to the age old question: Can scientists also be sailors?
