Started #Dispatch yesterday and I’ve been really enjoying it. It’s funny and more interactive than I expected. Also the variety of the interactive bits helps keep the pace going and never feels boring.

I know Sony’s solution isn’t perfect but we really need to start embracing the idea that people should be able to have fun however they want. Let people play on easy mode. Let people skip entire gameplay sections if they’re frustrating them or killing the joy for a game.

And on that note, one of my resolutions this year is to let go of the pressure to finish games when I’m no longer feeling them. Same goes for books, even objectively good ones. DNF is allowed & encouraged, even with my self care goal of 30 books (it’s not supposed to override my enjoyment of things)
My attention profile/brain doesn’t get that “reward” from task completion but rather from novelty and exploration (unfinished games queen). A Plat trophy is more like symbolic for me, it means the game was really special. But everyone’s different so you should do what’s fun & rewarding for you ofc!!

This year actually started great with social media, but somewhere along the way I started feeling a bit disconnected. But guess what! I’ve learned that’s okay & not a bad thing. It’s okay not to relate to most online takes or not to feel permanently connected. Or only post about your happy things.
