New promocode: upweek500

This gets the reader €/$ 500 credits for 30 days to test us out with! Once you activate the promo, use the credits or lose 'em (in 30 days after activation).
Why "week" in the promo? Something to do with black-week; when in doubt we just slap on an "up" & call it a day

Laying low on the posting, engineers too busy grinding on codebases to say something funny. Reminder that if one has to deal with python, types are a nice way to stay sane

has anybody benchmarked bun vs erlang performance, of all things? this will affect which target to run our gleam on by default

Congratulations @yuri-lang.dev on the free credits! ...after the first two winners forfeited their prize because they "don't have a need for cloud credits and just wanted to show off"
We've received as many submissions as we can possibly review tonight! We'll be doing the stream on @stream.place at 17:00 UTC; tune in to see whose code WINS by our silly and arbitrary metrics.
Instead of a regularly-scheduled stream this week, we'll try out a competition of coolest/funniest open-source projects that you have recently worked on!
There will be a special guest judge who chooses the winner, and the winner will receive €/$100 of free credits.

Amazing uptime idea: 3-N machines connected in an ouroboros daisy chain via websocket forwarding a single message continuously in a circle. There should be a canary machine, who detects if the message hasn't come in a while, therefore one or more of the machines is down. Study this carefully

Nothing better than writing 210 lines of Go code to generate... 36 lines of YAML (actually 28 if you ignore the big comment saying what was generated as an easier to read table..)

Streaming tonight 17:00 UTC for an hour or two! More development shenanigans as usual. Frontend-related if you couldn't tell from our previous post today...

New frontend project; wisdom of the crowd needed.
Requirements: gotta be easy to pick up by any frontend dev.
Narrowed it down to either react, vanillajs, or solidjs.

Did you know that because of that little bit of host/node overhead per VPS, it's more efficient to make big cloud servers instead of many smaller service-separated ones?

Of course go ahead and separate servers however you like, (optimizing for price first, right?), but just fyi for fun
