The Humanity Fund is donating $10,000 to Action Against Hunger Canada in support of its relief efforts in Gaza.

“The ongoing crisis in Gaza compels us to take action to save lives & restore dignity for communities,” said Marty Warren, National Director.

The trans & gender-diverse community continue to face disproportionate barriers & the fight to demand that they can live and work in safety and dignity is one that everyone must take on.

In response to the Hurricane Melissa disaster in Jamaica, the Steelworkers Toronto Area Council have passed motions to contribute to relief efforts to the Jamaican-Canadian Association, an amount matched by the Steelworkers Humanity Fund to the Canadian Red Cross.

Instead of strengthening the office, the government has left the position of Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise vacant, with signals suggesting plans to close the office entirely.

We can't let this happen.

The USW is denouncing the latest escalation in Donald Trump’s trade war!

The new tariff comes on top of the existing 35.16% duties already imposed. In total, Canadian softwood lumber shipments worth more than $7.7 billion annually will now face duties exceeding 45%.
