Beginning to see a thin layer of ice forming around the edges of the lakes in the High Uintas Wilderness. The sun still has enough warmth to make you forget the snow and ice. It’s that in-between season, when the memory of summer and the promise of winter share the same trail.

Despite facing a smothering defense and an unrelenting barrage of trash talk, he somehow rose above it all to snatch a narrow, hard-fought 10 to 9 victory over Gramps in a nail-biting one-on-one driveway championship showdown. And just like that, a new driveway legend has emerged.
