Details(1): The knight's main tactic is to jump out of the water and throw light spears at enemies on the deck (they're in a bag), or use a harpoon to pull commanders and armored warriors into the water.

I'm amused by the warlike names of these small animals: spear-shield, knife-shield, Boreas's shield and sickle-shield.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the lore of this creature, but in video games(going along with this analogy) in general, bosses usually possess trophies /relics, which highlight their importance (someone's half-eaten body parts or other people's trinkets in large numbers, for example)
