and then to fight against whatever you like being labeled as mid and altogether written off it now needs to be presented as the best thing ever and totally perfect rather than flawed but likable

genuinely i think the word “mid” has also had a huge negative impact on critical thinking about media quality, there are so many ways in which something can average out to being okay or good but not great but they are now all flattened down to being mid without any discussion as to why
