"When people read erotic symbols into my paintings, they're really talking about their own affairs."

A very happy birthday to Georgia O'Keeffe, born on this day in 1887. O'Keeffe insisted that the abstract images, flowers and landscapes she painted were not depicting vulvas.
Painting with a deep black and grey palette, dark purple at the centre. This painting depicts an extreme close up of a flower. We really want to respect artistic intent and compare it to anything but a vulva. However, we're struggling once again because extreme close-ups of any flower have a vulva-like appearance. Visually impaired users, please imagine a vulva with a large grey clitoral hood, black labia majora and small dark purple labia minora. Abstract painting with a mostly primary-coloured palette. The painting depicts lines like waves, focusing towards an ovoid vesica piscis shape which is textured with multiple waves. This shape honestly looks a lot like a vulva to us, it's pretty difficult to describe the form using any other analogies for the shape. For visually impaired users: imagine a vulva with an orange, crinkled clitoral hood and white, symmetrical, slightly ruffled labia minora, around a blue-to-black gradient vestibule, and you've got it. Painting depicting two apples stacked on top of each other, nestled atop a white flower and green leaves. Each apple has two red petals sprouting from the bottom. In between the apples is a round-ish ovoid shape in white. It is hard to describe this shape as anything other than distinctly yonic. Visually impaired users, try to imagine what it would look like if two apples had vulvas and were scissoring. Abstract painting with a grey, yellow, blue and purple palette. Straight lines run down the page, curving at the top like a church door. The yellow lines fold outwards like a flower petal. Once again, it is incredibly difficult to describe this painting in any way other than "it looks like a vulva", but we're a Vagina Museum, we're trained to see vulvas everywhere. For visually impaired users, imagine an upside-down vulva with yellow and light purple labia majora and blue labia minora. There are two spread legs at the top which are tiny in relation to the large vulva. You've pretty much got it.

When I worked as a patient instructor teaching women's health, this was something we explicitly warned about - and reflects poor technique on the part of Fesshole's gyno. Never let go of the speculum while it's in the patient's body, for just this reason!
