Disney Jr. is set to relaunch in Italy on December 1st, 5 years after its original shutdown in 2020.
The relaunch is part of a new, renewed contract between Sky Italy and The Walt Disney Company, which will also lead to the relaunch of other Disney-owned channels.

Recently, Boing (a children's channel owned by Mediaset) started airing the episodes of the 2005 Doraemon series made after the 2017 animation update. This made Italy the second European country to air such episodes (Spain did this before when Boing's Spanish feed aired the episodes).

Recently, the lost pilot for Dora the Explorer from 1999 has been found in its entirety. For almost 7 years, only a small fragment was found on Funline Animation's website, until that company decided to upload the full pilot.
