If Milwaukee wants to use their entire $14.1 MLE plus sign Rollins and Sims on new contracts at anything above one-year vet minimums, they'll need to cut payroll. $18.8m in space beneath their hard cap right now: $14.1m plus two vet mins at $2.3m would be just $130k clear of it.

Thibs has been convincing basketball people—including writers and analysts—who should know better that he’s a good coach for almost a decade now. I know I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating: low key one of the worst head coaches in the league these last several years.

They don’t need to use the MLE for Rollins since they 1. can match any offer sheets for him in RFA and 2. have Early Bird rights on him so can sign him on a new deal with a salary of up to ~$13m in year one. No need to use any exception (or cap space) to keep him.

Things change fast in the NBA. Next year’s East is now wide open. Celtics won’t retain a starter with a big tax bill ahead. Pacers & Knicks likely won’t be huge favorites. Sixers & Magic will be trying to get re-involved. Cavs will still be a bit unproven. Absolutely room for the Bucks in that mix.

In 2023, they lost Game 5 on a Wednesday and they didn’t fire Bud until the following Thursday.

Whatever your feelings about Horst are, do you trust this ownership group with Jimmy Haslam, who hired Doc Rivers, to make a good GM hire if they let Horst walk?
