Vernice the Guardeon :)
He’s a guild explorer, partially trying to live up to the old days of the exploration guild’s legacy, and partially on the hunt for a special item, a Lunar wing!
Most of his village is plagued with an endless sleep and he’s out to find a solution.

While having enough of that negative feelings piling up will eventually lead to a Bittercold/Dark Matter problem. The Voidlands is a sort of afterlife, but only for negative emotions, the actual ‘soul’ of the pokemon does not end up there unless brought there by force.

It is largely unknown what happens to spirits when they pass on, though recent studies have concluded that ‘negative emotional energy’ tends to cause spirits to linger for any number of reasons (creating many of the more undead ghost types)

Others are disliked, some regions have more specific beliefs or different views on what they represent, if there’s overlap there might be conflict between the different practices etc etc.

For those that represent some aspect of the world, usually they do have followings or those who bring offerings or try to carry out their will or whatever. Though the legends are usually aware, Sometimes folk get a little carried away in what they believe what X or Y or Z would want.

Usually because they have some important skill the pokemon are ‘ready’ to learn or have been stuck on like agriculture, carpentry, smithing, etc... (explaining why humans are known but only in tales), but sometimes they have some actual job to do (saving the world). All as penance for their past.

Humans definitely did exist alongside pokemon at one point! Yup! But they started getting a little too big for their britches and thought they could rule over mon instead of alongside them, so they were hidden away from the world long long ago. Arceus occasionally picks a few for various reasons…

All sorts of berries, herbs, and other remedies have been tried and tested against illness! And of course, different typings may be more or less resistant to different things, so spread is slower. Though, things still happen, its not as common or as devastating as it was back then in our world!

However for those remaining 1% at the top of society… to them, ’self defense’ can get extruded into defense of their holdings or the like… so especially vile criminals may eventually end up on a high class plate, A food for the rich… as awful as that sounds and is.

For 99% of the law abiding populace, meat will probably never touch the menu and is pretty highly shunned. For those who live outside of ‘civilized’ society, its seen as a moral wrong but can still happen For those desperate or crazy.
It is considered only acceptable after an act of self defense.

- Nucleon are very resistant to their own radiation (or all radiation should they have the Geiger sense ability) but that does not make them immune...

- While the floaty bits function similarly to real limbs when it comes to movement they do not actually perform any functions for balance, hearing, etc, instead Nucleon have ears similar to that of a seal, which are built into the head rather than protruding. Their hearing is as a result fairly poor

- Their floaty bits are quasi-solid, but enough pressure will cause your body to simply pass through them. Regardless touching them feels like TV static buildup from old televisions. They have no feeling in these 'limbs', and can be freely moved within a foot of the body.

- For Nucleon's with the Geiger Sense ability, they do not produce any radiation by default, and instead their glowy bits will interact with the local exposure levels, growing brighter as they get closer to a source of radiation and function as a good way to detect such things.

- For Nucleon's with the Atomizate ability, their output is usually about the same level as if you were to stand outside all day, but the increase/decreasing brightness of their floaty bits also coincides with their radioactive output.

- Their floaty bits, paws, and eyes all glow, this is involuntary, though increasing or decreasing activity (ie their adrenaline levels) will determine the brightness they are, with white being full powered, and they are at their dullest when asleep and completely disappear when KO'd.
