The motel offered a small but nice #breakfast #buffet with quiche, sandwiches, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, and beverages.

On the way back, we took our time and decided to spend the night in a #motel along the beautiful #RussianRiver.

In terms of finding mushrooms, especially porcini, #SaltPoint was a bust this time, but we had a good time nevertheless, and the coastal woods were beautiful. We will come back in the spring, just before mushroom season ends.

#SaltPoint State Park is one of the two places in the Bay Area where foraging for mushrooms is legal. There are daily limits.
The place was teeming with people and had been picked clean. We found a pile of various #mushrooms that somebody had dumped by the side of the trail. That's a shame.

#Highway1 north of Jenner. This stretch of 1 is a serpentine road with many hairpin turns as the road winds its way up the mountain. Intermittent one-lane traffic due to #RoadRepairs.

I apologize for my hiatus. I had a lot of things going on, and then I went on a small road trip up north. Contrary to rumors, I did not spend time in prison, I was not captured by the Mafia, and I was not abducted by aliens. I did have a bout with COVID, my first, but it didn't cripple me.

@cmc4768.bsky.social I finally tried #YourMom’sHaus in #ElGrenada. It’s a German #pub with emphasis on beer, and food is an afterthought. The schnitzel was ok. The potato salad lacked spices and vinegar. Bratwurst ok, boar with blueberries snags too sweet.

A cute little #BananaSlug was feasting on some gourmet mushrooms. Banana slugs can grow to about 25 cm long, but this one was about 7 cm. Seen on a Marin coastal trail in a redwood forest.

I saw little #mushrooms on a trail. Jim, I'm also not a mycologist, so I would not eat those. I only eat boletes, chanterelles, and field mushrooms, which I know very well.
