Sarah Kendzior: I do think that we have been mirroring the past of Hungary, I also think the UK, a country that people don't often associate with authoritarianism, they've been going down a very similar road to us ever since Brexit. A lot of these countries moves in tandem starting around 2015/16.

Sarah Kendzior: this is not the former Soviet Union where it was composed of republics that spoke different languages that had different cultures and were forced against their will to fuse into this union and then when it lapsed they split up along those lines. We do not have anything that natural.

Sarah Kendzior: he's trying to create a climate of fear, he's also trying to stoke Civil War. They've been doing this for 25 years ever since the 2000 election where we had the contrived catagories of red vs blue in terms of state boundaries, we don't have a state designation.
