After watching a YT video I may have a fix for the STP Flapping issue. 1) Disable Global Settings, 2) Set USW24POE to RSTP, priority 0, 3) Set each of my 3 USWFLEX8 to priority 4096, 8192 & 12288 respectively. This is a tomorrow project, afterwards the network should not struggle to route traffic.

Has the overall number of notifications (calls, email & text) gone up dramatically? I get a stream of calls & texts from healthcare providers, usually involving some level of automation & usually being woefully inefficient; especially when the system hangs up after encountering Google Call Assist.

Is it 5pm yet?! 👀😵‍💫

Today is my last day of work until Monday. Sweet Jebus, I need this break even if tomorrow will be anything but restful.

Good quality sleep is elusive. On average 6+ hours lately with last day over 7 was 11/14 and last day just under 9 was 11/4. I'm starting to feel like David Bowie's character John in The Hunger. It's all Miriam's fault.

Another mystery solved. The "rogue AP" alert in my network OS turned out to be a new Wi-Fi enabled pedestal fan. The lightbulb went on when it was suddenly disconnected from Wi-Fi and wouldn't shut off this morning. Glad it's not anything nefarious.

Today I got a very specific network error, "STP State Flapping". I had no idea what that meant, but after looking it up online it apparently involves a switch port, the ethernet cable or a link setting. This seems to be what's causing the network disconnects. Now to figure out how to fix it.

The fast food of today is nothing like back in the day. The speed and efficiency are long gone. Dumb it down with digital ordering.

At Mom's cardiac surgery follow-up for a checkup on her recent ablation. The doctor is running about 15 minutes behind, which isn't terribly unusual in US healthcare these days. I guess I won't be at work before noon.

I still need to drop paperwork off at my PCP's office and stop at the bank. 😵‍💫🤷

I get block notifications from a Bluesky list. None of these folks are known to me. I suspect they stumble on my account and block me after disliking something I've posted. No skin off my ass. Maybe if Bluesky had a private account option this wouldn't happen.

2 more internet disconnects overnight (3:38am). These were longer (~7 mins), but also seemed to use 0 bytes of LTE backup data. Others in a reddit forum posting about similar issues. Need to explore changing WAN port, replacing Ethernet and a focus on Docker containers as a possible cause.

The cardiologist's office called to let me know it's safe to keep taking Aleve and Eplerenone because the dose of the latter is considered low. That's good news as my legs were aching tonight; presumably after any Aleve in my system from yesterday is now gone.

I survived Monday at work. Just 2 more days then 4 days off.

I'm absolutely stuffed with Chinese food. That dinner combo meal was too much. Definitely could've satisfied my craving with the small standard combo. Either way, I'm good for a month or two.

Just turned off the super annoying #SimiliarShots in #GooglePhotos. I already get enough unnecessary notifications, emails and text messages! Personally, I don't take enough photos and I almost never share them.

I would really love to know why my MMI keeps telling me to use the configuration wizard. Who else is logged in? There are no other authorized users. I think a password reset is in order.

Yesterday, I blocked a rogue AP listed only as "wlan0 e1:b7", which my network said was impersonating and rebroadcasting an SSDI of "Unifi Wireless". I've seen this before, but it's the first time "impersonating" was mentioned. So far I can't find any smart devices that are malfunctioning.

I am not looking forward to work this week. I'm there for 3 days, but a new frequently misbehaving client is going to make those days feel like 3 months.

And what would Monday morning be like without another crash reported near the exit I take for work? The area is under construction due to new rail service, but despite a bunch of signs, and an occasional state trooper, people whip through at well over 65-70 mph. Accidents are inevitable. 😤

The Christmas Music nuts have won. The radio station I listen to while having breakfast is already playing Christmas music. They already played Frosty the Snowman, Grinch and something by Faith Hill. 🤮

Yesterday on #MeetThePress #TreasurySec Bessent repeated the #Trump lie that grocery prices are down. He specifically said #turkey #prices are down. What he didn't say and was not truthful about is that turkey prices are lower because of farmer or store discounts and not due to any action by POTUS.

[Google] Yes, a faulty network switch can cause a WAN connection to drop, as a single point of failure can disrupt the entire network. This can lead to dropped packets and a loss of connectivity for all devices connected through it.

So far things are stable, after I rebooted a switch this morning.

What to do with all the pennies? People seem to be wondering and worrying. As far as I'm concerned, they're still legal tender so banks, retailers and the US Treasury should accept them until they're fully out of circulation.

That said, most of us will continue to lose them in our sofas.

As I continue trying to resolve the dropouts in my broadband internet I think I may have fixed part of it. The service only dropped 1X overnight and that could have been something else. I'm seeing a high number of blocked VLAN to VLAN for 1 AppleTV device and rebooting the switch it's on has helped.

I've reached my clutter limit for my computer desk. I've been scanning and shredding. Very therapeutic. That said, I still need to add a side-return to my IKEA desk so I can spread out what's on the desk that I can't throw out.
