I think half of my remaining house rubble was my books. So so many books.
veronicaf.bsky.social
They have been very happy and glad to be back today.
veronicaf.bsky.social
She gives the best side eye.
veronicaf.bsky.social
That makes it very tricky.
veronicaf.bsky.social
Well, another few days and they'll hopefully be healthy again. All the stress gave them a nice 'flu flare-up.
veronicaf.bsky.social
They are such good and perfect girls!

One of their colony mates tested positive to FeLV, so because they'd been exposed, they had to return to the rescue until they could have PCRs done.

In our current state of houselessness, I had nowhere safe to quarantine them away from other cats. Thankfully, both are negative!
veronicaf.bsky.social
Oh that is wonderful news! All the shelters and rescues I know are desperate for volunteers. Thank you!
veronicaf.bsky.social
Probably both definitely.

Hurray IT'S HERE.

I've almost finished replacing my Seanan McGuire books with whatever second hand copies I could find online, but it's new release month and I am EXCITE.
Front cover of Seanan McGuire's new October Daye novel, Silver and Lead. A blood covered white woman with pointy fae ears is wearing a leather jacket, a sword, and holding a large dagger on the cover.

She's either going to learn to like it, or bap me on the head.
veronicaf.bsky.social
Okay I might have missed them a little bit.

I don't tend to miss fosters when they go off to their new homes because I know they're living their best lives and learning to love new humans. But I'm glad to have these two back.
Two snuggly black cat sisters curled up together in a grey fluffy bed. Meg, at the front, has her little back legs stretched towards the camera.

Hopefully she brings them in very soon. Worth setting up a nice nest or kennel outside the door and seeing if she likes it?
veronicaf.bsky.social
You should have seen how relieved she was when I picked her up from the rescue yesterday (they had to go have FeLV testing). She was so hissy and angry until she realised it was me and I was allowed to pat her ears.
veronicaf.bsky.social
She was also very mad I cleaned her eyes. She had some very choice swear words for me.
veronicaf.bsky.social
Sabine was trapped at 11 weeks old with her sister and was like NO THANKS don't touch me ever again.

The fact I'm allowed to pat and love on her now is a big deal. I'm very proud of her.
veronicaf.bsky.social
And HOW DARE I clean the 'flu goop out of her eyes and make her comfortable.
veronicaf.bsky.social
The WORST. her own personal body and I lifted the feet and KISSED HER.
veronicaf.bsky.social
Sabine is SO MAD. How DARE I mistake her for her sister and pick her up and kiss her own personal little head?!

The audacity! The HORROR. She was only acting like Meg and headbutting me because she is a bit relieved to be back in foster.
A very grumpy little black cat with a white splash under her chin. She's sulking in a grey fluffy bed after I cleaned her eyes and kissed her head.

Here is Meg, looking less like a chipmunk. Sabine is sulking and refusing photos because I kissed her head. (Still illegal! how dare!)
A sad looking Meg. Meg is a black cat with weepy goopy eyes, and long black whiskers. She is looking particularly spiky, I think she lost weight.
veronicaf.bsky.social
I wish I could keep all the hissy grumpy girls.
veronicaf.bsky.social
Sabine was so stressed and angry in her cosy cupboard, I could see her relax as I stuck a hand in and she sniffed it was me. I got a tentative headbutt once she had hissed enough. And Meg was all anger and growling until she realised it was my hand invading her blanket fort.
veronicaf.bsky.social
I was a bit worried about them too, but they're back to normal. Angry about being crated, but we don't want to make anyone else sick.
veronicaf.bsky.social
They're BACK. From very angry hissy girls at the rescue, to sniffing me and turning into snuggly marshmallows. I think they were relieved I came and got them 😂😂
A very grumpy Sabine in her grey fluffy bed. She is a black cat with a splash of white under her chin, and she currently has cat flu, so her eyes are goopy. Meg, glaring at me. The angle is weird so she looks a bit like a chipmunk with her cheeks full, but she is a black cat with a shaved spot on her neck. She is also full of cat flu and eye goop.

I got stuck in our outside toilet! I had to yell for help!
