An important editorial in The Lancet on health care in Canada. Well worth reading.

However it overstates the role of the federal gov't. Ottawa funds less than 25% of health care costs & P/T gov'ts do much more than "administer" the system.

Percentage of Public Health Expenditures Covered by the Canada Health Transfer, 2012-2019 ... from 21% to 23.5%
