Dhurandhar movie final thoughts: 🌟 🌟🌟

I've to call out the two cheap exploitative scenes that are designed to ignite and provoke - it's irresponsible, to say the least.

But I really liked this movie a lot. Go watch it. It's a terrific genre movie.

Dhurandhar: As far as all the pearl clutching, outrage can't be selective. You can't have different rules 4 your allies. I dont understand the people who will champion the Voice of Hind Rajab & find Dhurandhar offensive. Moral outrage from a vantage point is as dubious as the politics of this movie.

Dhurandhar: The two standouts are Rakesh Badi & Sara Arjun (Jhanvi, Sara, Ananya take notes from her, please).

With the opening shot of the sunglasses invoking Scorsese Casino, to, the hyper violence reminceint of Tarentino, Dhar knows how to stage scenes with great skill.

Dhurandhar 3/3:
The first half is brilliant, the rapid fire editing, the title cards dropping, the music is nuts, the casting is superb.
AK receiving raves gives a rather bland performance. Slow motion shots with bombastic background score doesn’t make a great performance. Swag ain't acting, bro.

DHURANDHAR(2/3)
A towering performance by @ranveersingh who is magnetic and restrained. Giving us a character with an outsized physicality that is so acutely internalised, his face and body are a roadmap of emotions: hope, terror, and horror.

Dhurandhar: 🌟 🌟🌟 (1/3)
A testosterone fulled smash that is as riveting as exhausting. Like Biglows ZDT, Dhurandhar is impeccably directed action thriller that deploys great skill with questionable politics that will outrage the left & embolden the right But purley as a genre movie, it is terrific

Finally watched *Agent Vinod* @bethlovesbollywood.bsky.social recommendation and loved it. The rabta Song sequence fight scene is a blast! Saif is on fire & and love everything Raghavan does.

These actors, these face cards, this movie. Jude Law was robbed of his Oscar for this, & Gwyneth should have won hers for this. This movie is perfectly cast and directed. Terrific on every rewatch.

All those morans who went on abt SRK being a victim of non compliance with the govt in Aryan Khan episode, owe everyone an apology 🙄 he just won a national award for Jawan, a movie that advocates for people to vote! national awards are given by the govt of India. So stop with gaslighting nonsense.

The National Awards winners are a joke. Never have i seen a celebration of mediocrity at this scale. We're officially in the era of stupid. #nationalawards

Movies I rewatched this weekend:

5. Ladies Vs Ricky Bhel: A terrific cast, but take #parinetichopra and recast every #aliabhatt movie with her, every Bhatt movie will get elevated (before you roll your eyes, watch her in this and imagine her as Rani, thats the movie we deserve).
May 11, 2025 at 1:02 AM
Movies I watched this weekend

4. Another Simple Favour: silly, stupid, fun with a sensational #blakelively & #annakendrick murder in Capri.
May 11, 2025 at 1:01 AM
Movies I watched/rewatched this weekend.

3. Guru: AB over acts, Ratnam over directs, but Aishwarya, her face, her performance is a divine, hypnotic gift. Rajiv Menon cinematography is soaked in star struck bright lights & Mallika dances like a dream.
May 11, 2025 at 12:59 AM
Movies I watched:

2. Birth: Jonathan Glazer has made the sublime (Under your Skin) to the ridiculous (Zone of interest), but his Birth is mesmerising. Kidman gives her career best performance. She casts a spell from the time you lay your eyes on her. The spell stays even after the end credits.
May 11, 2025 at 12:58 AM
Movies I watched/rewatched this weekend.

1. Michael Clayton: Tony Gilroy is a genius. Tilda & Tom are excellent. But Clooney is the real deal. He is the most deluxe thing in this movie, as a fixer, his performance piercing, searing, simmering with fear, angst, and smarts.

Ceasefire is good news. I pray for the innocent Pakistani ppl, but not the terrorists they support and hide.
To the apologists in India - any of you SRK,AK,SK, fans try to lecture us. Remember, all complained about erosion of free speech. None thanked the Indian army for keeping them safe.

Watching Ladies vs. Ricky. How good is this cast. Ranveer and Anushaka are so good. Parineeti Chopra is so good. She would have been better than Alia as Rani. (Before you roll your eyes, just watch her. She could do all of Alias' roles as good or better).
