I often like to take a moment to describe what a character's voice sounds like and how it might sound in certain situations.

For instance, having a character whose voice would drop to a cold and raspy growl whenever they dipped into tranquil fury.

Leon turned around to see a woman carrying a metal briefcase standing behind him. Her pitch-black hair was cut in a short, fashionably asymmetrical bob, and her smooth alabaster skin was complemented by the ruby red lipstick on her lips and subtle eyeliner around her bright brown eyes. The maroon trench coat she wore was carefully tailored to perfectly accentuate her figure. “Something I can help you with, Bullet?” Leon asked curtly. “Oh, I just came to say ‘hi, ’” she teased. Leon rolled his eyes. “Then goodbye,” Leon said, getting ready to step away to retrieve his knives from the training dummy. “Oh, come on. No need to be so distant,” Bullet whined. “I was with Jessie and Issac at the shooting range when I heard you were also here training. Since we got paired up to work on a contract, I thought we could chat for a bit.” Leon groaned in disgust. “Y’know ‘Jessie’ and ‘Issac’ are guns, right?” he quipped. “You don’t have to go giving your guns people names and treat them like spoiled puppies.” Bullet laughed. “Why wouldn’t I name my precious little darlings?” she chimed. “Right.
