Hi, as BlueSky attracts lots of new people, a new introduction from me.
I have been here for some time now after leaving Twitter because of Musk, leaving more than 10,000 followers behind. I post covers of #vinyl albums I own, almost every day.
Follow me if you like album covers, I'll follow back!
I get that. For me it's Physical Graffiti, but this one certainly is a magnificent album.
The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
1972 UK Rolling Stones Records #vinyl #music
#BluesRock #CoutryRock #RockNRoll
The was the first album the Stones recorded after moving to France. For me it's one of their best albums overall.
Elvis Costello - My Aim is True
1977 Stiff UK #vinyl #music
#NewWave
This is one of the best New Wave albums that came out after the Punk movement. Elvis Costello had been trying for years to get his music on a record and luckily for use, Stiff decided to sign him on.
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
1974 UK Charisma Records #vinyl #music
#ProgRock #ArtRock
The last album of the band with Peter Gabriel. There was a lot of friction during the recording sessions, one of the reasons he left the band.
P!nk - I'm not Dead
2006 USA LaFace Records #music #PopRock
I own the version on pink #vinyl.
This powerful album is different from all her other albums in that it's much more rock oriented. Music is better, texts are better. Too bad she went back to the kind of music she made before this one.
The Avalanches - Since I Left You
2000 AUS Modular Recordings #vinyl #music
#Leftfield #HipHop
Almost completely made up out of samples. There were difficulties releasing it outside AUS, due to samples clearance difficulties.
For me it's one of the weirdest and best album of this millennium.
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place
2003 USA Temporary Residence Limited #vinyl #music
#PostRock
This album has no lyrics as is said to be influenced by the events of 9/11.
Fairport Convention - Unhalfbricking
1969 UK Island Records #vinyl #music
Ons of the best #FolkRock albums of all time. Sandy Denny was still a member of the group. The album cover shows her parents. The band can be seen through the fence, in the garden.
Bob Dylan - Time out of Mind
1997 USA Columbia Records #vinyl #music
#BluesRock #CoutryRock
Not his best known album, but it won 3 Grammy Awards nevertheless.
Porcupine Tree - On the Sunday of Life...
1992 UK Transmission Recordings / KScope #music #SpaceRock
This is their debut album, with music different from their later recordings. It contains the song "Radioactive Toy", which is still a fan favorite.
I own the remastered 2008 reissue on orange #vinyl.
U2 - Achtung Baby
1991 UK Island Records #vinyl #music
#AlternativeRock #PopRock
I think this album is the only U2 album that is really good. They did have nice records, but not like this. After this it went downhill.
Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
1968 USA ATCO / Atlantic #vinyl #music
#PsychedelicRock #AcidRock #HardRock
This album has 2 sides, but most people play only the B-side: the one with the legendary 17 minute long title track who's name is said to be derived from "In the Garden of Eden".
Gruppo Sportivo - 10 Mistakes
1977 NED Ariola #vinyl #music
#NewWave #PopRock #Parody
This album is the first album by this group. They don't take themselves very seriously, what resulted in this great album. It's all about the 10 mistakes a boy can make trying to get a girlfriend in the seventies.
Matching Mole - Matching Mole
1972 UK CBS #vinyl #music
#ProgRock #JazzRock #PsychedelicRock
This band did not exist long and was formed bij Robert Wyatt, after he left Soft Machine. He was joined by other guys from the Canterbury scene, like Dave Sinclair (Caravan) and Phil Miller.
Never seen it. Are they called Yaz or Yazoo in that season?
Yazoo - Upstairs at Eric's
1982 UK Sire #vinyl #music
#SynthPop
In the US the band was renamed to 'Yaz'. Mainly because there was a threat of a large lawsuit from Yazoo Records, but also because there was another American band named Yazoo. Early US-versions of the album do carry the bandname Yazoo.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Trilogy
1972 USA Island Records #vinyl #music
#ProgRock
Vanilla Fudge - Vanilla Fudge
1967 USA ATCO Records #vinyl #music
#PsychadelicRock
Hi everybody, I'm back. Took me longer then expected, but now I'm ready to send you some more #vinyl covers.
I decided to sort of start over, so you may see covers you already saw in my timeline. I hope you will enjoy them anyway.
