I do think that until one of the major players (like Tesla) actually goes out of business and people’s investments go to $0, then there are no consequences for the memeification of the market, and valuations will have more or less permanently come untethered from performance.

Yeah, but what could possibly trigger this? They’re using every bit of data capacity that they can bring online. Money allocated to data centers is being spent on old, established industry (see: Caterpillar, etc). The chip rental stuff is fishy, but bad enough to bring down the industry?

Cost of rapid chargers is a thing. I almost exclusively charge mine at level 2, because part of the impetus for owning an EV is saving on the gas cost.

We don’t get past this until we, as a nation, collectively decide to let go of all of it. And that’s going to be very difficult for conservatives, in particular, whose grievances are largely hallucinations.

For example, I was recently in Akron, CO for work, and someone had a 9/11 sign that said “never forget what they did to us,” which you’ll note is a very different message from simply saying “never forget.” It invites a retributive response.

Just heard an interview with James Kimmel Jr (no relation) where he talked about how revenge is addictive. I think 9/11 kicked off a pattern that broke people’s brains. Too many people get too much dopamine from the cycle of grievance and retribution.
