Two cars passing on PJ McArdle Roadway on Mt Washington - Pittsburgh PA
I had a nice evening to photograph the city when it rained and made it almost magical, but the kind of magic that is awesome but brings with it wet socks.
Ever since the accident the nerves have been very sensitive to changes in temperature. Winter is not fun, but early spring is BRUTAL. The flowers are nice though.
Lunar Eclipse from Pittsburgh.
The night was crystal clear and quite warm. It was an absolutely delight to photograph.
The popular overlooks are classic for a reason. However if you only go there you’ll miss out on a lot of really gorgeous views.
Pittsburgh is a really pretty city.
I have been involved in two major photography projects for the last many years. The second is photographing the social dance communities within Pittsburgh. Ballroom. Salsa. West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing Etc.

This was from the Grand ReOpening of the Arthur Murray McMurray Studio
When it comes to photography, winter is a really difficult time. At times it can be ABSOLUTELY beautiful, other times it's totally bland. Pittsburgh at night in the cold is ALWAYS beautiful. And Orion is high in the sky. #winterwonderland #pittsburgh #winter
#Pittsburgh has two operational funiculars, both are very old and well loved. This was taken from inside the Duquesne Incline. #art #winterwonderland #pittsburghisawesome
The song “Pennies from Heaven” sung by Louis Armstrong in 1936. If it were written today based on the same spending power, would be roughly “Quarters from Heaven”.

Technically it’s $0.23 but still.
Blue hour in #Pittsburgh after a short #polarvortex in which the temperatures reached the coldest we've seen in a decade. The ice on the Ohio River was spectacular. I absolutely love photographing the ice. I do not care for the cold, though.
#Pittsburgh has experienced a deep freeze and has left the rivers frozen for the first time in a while. I love shooting in conditions like this. #polarvortex #art #winterwonderland
Still sick and missing photographing the cold. Took this the day before the polar vortex and tried to capture the winter gray of the city. #pittsburgh #art #commission #winterwonderland
Thanks. Me too.

And thank you for the kind words.
I tried to get images this morning. Feeling under the weather and a wind chill at -12F was a bit too much. I hate feeling ill.

A few days ago I captured this and figured I’d share.

This is just such a cool view of the city of #pittsburgh. This was the first time I was over on this particular location but I’ll be back. #art #urbanphotography
No one was at the park. Yes it was cold and nearing midnight and windy. And kind of cruddy weather, but it was beautiful. #pittsburgh #art
The Allegheny River and the Roberto Clemente Bridge during a brief defrost. The ice surface went from frozen to liquid in about 5 minutes. It was pretty cool to see. #Pittsburgh #art
#Pittsburgh and snow look magical. Reality is more complicated of course. But I LOVE it. #photography #art #winterphotos #skyline #commission
What exactly does “winning” look like in a game of chicken against a train?
Christmas this year flew by far too quickly. Remember when we were kids and December seemed to last half a lifetime?

I’ve been trying to find a way to #photograph the Hornes Tree in a more unique way. This isn’t entirely it. #pittsbrugh #art #photography #commissions

Look up can not be over emphasized when looking for unique and powerful compositions.

The US Steel Tower and the Koppers Tower in Downtown Pittsburgh against a flat white overcast sky.
