WON’T BE LONG NOW by Elizabeth Hardinger is set in 1950s-60s Kansas. Known in her family as an “odd-wad,” Billie Enholm is brilliant but awkward in social situations. Nowadays we might refer to her as neurodivergent, but at the time there was no such understanding. Powerful and poignant. #ewgc

I was wowed by LADY TREMAINE by Rachel Hochhauser, the Cinderella story told from the perspective of the “evil” stepmother. A brilliant reimagining and a celebration of women who want to control their own destinies. Great on audio. #ewgc @libro.fm

Loved WHEN NO ONE ELSE WILL by Amanda Skenandore. Based on a real clinic in 1940s Chicago, this is a compelling and thoughtful novel about friendship, motherhood, and women’s rights to health care. Give this to fans of A Spark of Light by Jodi Picoult or Looking for Jane by Heather Marshall. #ewgc

THE ASTRAL LIBRARY by Kate Quinn is a delightful page-turner about a young woman at the end of her rope when she suddenly comes upon the Astral Library, a place where people in need can find safety. And then the library itself comes under attack. What a joy to read. #ewgc

Currently reading THE HARVEY GIRL by Dana Stabenow, about a female Pinkerton agent tasked with going undercover in 1890s New Mexico to find the train robbers regularly stealing supplies headed for Harvey House restaurants. Fascinating. #ewgc @macmillanlib.bsky.social

Day 9 of #libfaves25: THE BOOK CLUB FOR TROUBLESOME WOMEN by Marie Bostwick, a surprisingly thoughtful and thought provoking novel about a group of women in a suburban neighborhood in the sixties which, as you can imagine, turns out to be a time of enormous change for everyone.
