One reason I tend to be careful with speaking Russian when there are folks who don't understand Russian nearby.

This reminds me what I find unusual is how so many completely disconnected languages — English, Japanese, Hebrew, lack separate words for a "dream" as in something you wish for or invent in your head, or a "dream" as in something you hallucinate while sleeping.
I actually got an answer why tapir!

Dream Plaza?
Tapirs look like the mythological baku, a creature that eats bad dreams, iirc.

Just got suggested a large instagram account of a Palestinian from Nazareth (i.e. Israeli), who in his life story says that he felt like unwanted "2nd class", was sent by his family to study to Britain (not cheap) and worked at Apple (he mentions he experienced racism everywhere)

The supposedly progressive notion that Europeans or "westerners" or "white people" brought racism, homophobia, misogyny to peoples around the world in itself is racist for it denies agency of peoples who aren't like, the claimants, westerners.

I have just thought of a great premise for a manga or an anime — a foreigner moves to a haunted Japanese house, encounters all sort of urban legend demons, but doesn't mind too much because they are unfamiliar with the lore, and are from the place that's much spookier than Japan.

"Jews made Holocaust to get Israel" narrative you sometimes hear in ex-USSR indeed has a "lore".
Even the name "Holocaust" (yes I know it's an external term, as opposed to Jewish "Shoah") is seen as a "confirmation", i.e. "Jews sacrificed by burning other Jews in order to get Israel".
Yep, "a mob hunting for Jews" must just be "pro-Palestinian".
I remember "well sourced and in-depth" explanation I heard while in school "Jews made Holocaust to get Israel".
It's often non-westerners who aren't into wars are disregarded by western consumers AJ&RT, we are "western perspective".

I'm honestly surprised someone from contemporary Japan managed to write this short fragment, considering this is the feelings of people from places like those around myself who'd be saying something like that to westerners who'd call for death while living in unprecedented safety

There are so many cases when I can reasonably say that if asked I could do a similar artwork, traditionally, for cheaper, perhaps even better, but I'm never contacted, and this highlights just how garbage I must be if this generation is preferable.

Painted in ink and watercolour on a postcard with a view from Odaiba of the Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower, purchased at Kyukyodo (鳩居堂) shop in Tokyo's Ginza.
Sent from Odaiba Kaihin Koen Mae (お台場海浜公園前) post office in Tokyo for a special fukei-in (风景印) cancellation.

Societally, in Israel, this, and in part mental illnesses too, is something you have to "toughen up" and go through in silence. The shortage of access to mental health doesn't help. The situation is much better than in Russia or other places, but still not quite good.

I always carry a tenugui cloth with me, and in kagome pattern at that, from Kawamanu — it's one of the cheaper ones, and it also looks like the star of David.
Curiously Kawamanu also now has a special Georgia-themed design of a furoshiki cloth.
