As the US threatens sanctions against the International Criminal Court, PPC data shows limited support. Only 29% of Americans favor sanctioning ICC staff, while a bipartisan majority prefer public criticism or no action. Notably, 62% favor the U.S. joining the ICC.

SCOTUS appears poised to limit protections for FTC commissioners, which could expand presidential authority over independent agencies. PPC data show large majorities prefer to keep these agencies independent, with 2/3 saying Congress should retain power over any changes.

As the Supreme Court considers a case that could expand Presidential authority over independent agencies, PPC data majorities (65 to 69%) want agencies like the FTC to remain independent, and two-thirds say only Congress should be able to change that status.
