I have no idea how hearts work. I was in the highest red zone for 20-50 minutes for a tempo or fast run just in September, and I can barely reach it now. This particular run I like to go out a few miles and turn around and pick up on the way back. 🙃

Whatever heart, you do you. 🤜 🤛

Looking for testers! 🤓 We've just put together a #Zenodo JSON validator, something the community has been wanting for years.

You can use it as a standalone container or a GitHub Action. Give it a test, and please open an issue if you run into any trouble!

Happy 2026! 🥳 This year I'll start the 5th decade of life, and I'm grateful. To another year of learning, growth, self-awareness and authenticity. I will continue to push myself physically and try to be assertive and kind, and place more emphasis on self-care and rest.

Happy New Year! 🎉 To celebrate, I want to share work from 2025 (Nov.) that I am most excited about continuing into 2026. We designed an agentic team to build, deploy, optimize, and scale #HPC applications in #Kubernetes. We used #Gemini and it worked remarkably well. vsoch.github.io/2025/hpc-orc....

With initiatives like the AmSC, Genesis, and the lab's NG-HPCC, it's obvious that the "HPC center of the future" is very cloud-like. What gives me pause is whether staffing and mindset are ready for a focus on infrastructure innovation. I think I saw this coming. 🙃 www.authorea.com/users/872044...

Happy holidays, folks! 🥞

Whether you like latkes or roast (I am privy to both) I hope you enjoy the holiday, and make time for dancing and time with friends and family. I haven't reflected fully on the year yet (still adventures to be had) but man, it was great! 🥳

And please engage with us! We are joining #HPSF soon and looking to grow the community and provide support to our users. We need to understand use cases and what folks are looking for. We will best figure this out if you ask questions, and tell us what you need. 🙏
We are getting a lot of questions about #FluxFramework! 🎉 If you are new to the project, this is the right one: flux-framework.org. You can most quickly get to the devs via an issue on flux-core on GitHub, or ping us in the hpc.social slack or here. ☎️

Google Photos made an end of year video, but it was bad. I made my own. This year was about adventure, pushing limits, and growth. This is a small glimpse of my experiences. Thank you to all the people that have supported me and filled this year with so much joy... encore! 🥳

Strength of the body extends to the mind, and our daily work. If we learn to push our physical limits and embrace discomfort, our relative perception of what is hard completely changes.

I am absolutely certain that nerds rule the world! 🤓

Affirmation! 🙌

Another 1990s throwback - jamming while driving with imaginary drums. I'm actually not sure about the year - the song came out in 1999, so likely this was within a few years of that. This is dedicated to my Dad. Many good memories to this song. 🥰

We used state machines to orchestrate a complex #HPC workload in #Kubernetes, and performed a Usability study across #Azure, #GoogleCloud, and #AWS with over 28K CPU and 256 GPU that resulted in over 26K datasets!

Belated Halloween Dance! 🎃

This is the first time that I've ever attempted this dance - I've seen it enough times that I got the general gist! But let's be real, it's terrible. 😄 I guess I don't care, because I had fun. Happy belated Halloween!

hey @rockylinux.org 👋 We have been getting 404s for some of the Rocky mirrors today (and recently) in our CI. Usually a rerun fixes it, but I wanted to make sure you were aware, and if there is a status page we could refer to for future issues? Thank you! 🙏

When things are hard, we remember that we are responsible for ourselves, and the outcomes of our choices. Today I chose strength, and to prove to myself that I am still the strongest person that I know. With time (and protein!) you will see it too. I embrace darkness, but I choose to be a light.

It's about time we think more about our job shape. This is something I'm really excited about for #FluxFramework! Have you ever thought about the implications of your flag choices for binding? I made a little tool today (WIP) that can detect (and then predict) topology (binding) down to PU.
