When drivers run red lights🚦, they threaten our lives.

Call Governor Newsom TODAY at (916) 445-2841 and ask him to sign the red light camera bill #SB720. We need hundreds of calls NOW – he will decide on this bill before Monday!

We are heartbroken to share that a pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver in the Bernal Heights neighborhood last Saturday.

New data from the SFMTA shows that the city’s new speed cameras are proving effective at significantly changing driver behavior.

It also shows how out of control speeding has become, with many drivers going way beyond the limit on our streets.

We need Governor Newsom to sign SB 720 by October 13. Take action now ➡️ walksf.org/SB720

SB 720 bill would create an alternative approach for California cities to implement lifesaving red light cameras that’s more equitable and efficient.

We all deserve to be safe crossing the street, human or chicken! 🚸

This is why Walk SF keeps pushing with Supervisors Mandelman, Sherrill & Sauter for SFPD to focus & increase enforcement of the most dangerous driving behaviors.

Whether dressed as chickens 🐔 or not, we appreciate the San Francisco Police Department being out at known dangerous intersections enforcing something so basic that's so often ignored: the law to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk everywhere, every time.

Why another giant chicken was crossing the road in S.F.’s Richmond District
Drivers who didn’t yield to a San Francisco police officer crossing a busy crosswalk in a giant chicken costume were pulled over Monday morning.

We believe it will reduce barriers for cities to use more red light cameras, which we NEED.

The stakes are only getting higher with bigger, heavier, & more powerful vehicles. #YesonSB720
