You don't expect carpenters to sell clothes or computers...

...and in the same way, readers don't expect one author brand to deliver everything.

This video highlights the need for multiple author brands. Read the full blog for more details (link in the thread).

Some readers? They don't pick up #nonfiction because they expect it to be like tasting sawdust from an icehouse -- dry and cold.

But simple techniques can make your draft toasty, engaging your audience as well as fiction.

What if...

...when you tried something you thought you were stinky at...

...others told you were good?

Really, REALLY good?

This Mind Uncensored (link in thread) unpacks my experience in discovering skill -- and encourages you with the potential that others might see hidden skill in you, too.

"Is my resume good? Should I tweak it to get more interviews?"

My friend wanted my opinion as a ghostwriter.

I was honest -- you can't write a resume now the way people did a decade ago.

Maybe, when you get a "free" day, you bake cookies or organize something.

Those aren't bad things.

But grasping for "just taxing enough" activities to feel good reveals we need to relearn passivity.

Publishing a book is, one might say, a Herculean feat, even with a team.

Is posting on Substack worth it?

Even if you're not a "writer," it can be a great place to publish content for your company.

BUT --

-- you still need an archive.

I lay out the reason -- plus some benefits of using the platform -- on my FREE blog (link in thread).

Nope, nope, and nope.

I delete stuff I love all the time. Every good #writer does. This video shows the experience.

Your book's ready to self-publish. But where should you take it? Amazon or IngramSpark?

You CAN publish on one of these channels, but this video explains why most authors do better distributing their content on both.

The best time to tackle your marketing assets is BEFORE your draft is done.

#Podcast swaps can help you expand your reach, but only if you drop the idea that it's a chance to network with the host. This video recommends an audience-first mindset.

Writers. #AI.

I do NOT believe writers should be using AI to draft and publish content -- that is, saying they wrote what they didn't write. But that doesn't mean #artificialintelligence is completely useless in the craft, as my latest video highlights.
