"I dwell in the shadows. I seldom come to light." She replied, seeing as he lowered his sword.

“Then explain why I’ve never heard of you?”

He lowers his sword only slightly, he trusted his own skills. The sword was only a tool in which he preferred to use.

"I watch over the city, it's people. I do not possess any intention of harming you."

She replied, her eyes fixed on his sword. He held it with grace, but there was still hesitation in his grip. Too tight or too loose and he would lose.

Thinking of making a Multi-Muse account, typically based on fantasy theme. Orcs maybe.

"Try to take the sap. It will ease your pain."

She held the wound tightly with her hand to stop the bleeding.
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
She hadn't realised that in the first place, but something didn't add up to her observation.

"Wh... what in the.."

She couldn't believe what she was seeing. There was no sign of a heart in his body. It had been carved out. But how was it possible?

He was holding on to life but his heart was no longer within him. Something took it yet he still lives.

Vishanti looked at the man, judging by his appearance, he was in his prime. But before she could say anything, he collapsed with a thud.

"Are you alright?"

She moved to his side, turning him over to see a fatal wound close to his heart. Her eyes carefully and quickly examined the wound.

“As for your offer of payment,” she added, stepping past him towards the path ahead, “we shall see if you are still standing by the end of this. Then, we will speak of what is owed.”

With that, she strode forward, her silhouette sharp against the moonlight, already embracing the path of the hunt.
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
Her words were simple, but the weight behind them was not. Vishanti did not lend her blade lightly, nor walk beside strangers without purpose. But this hunt… this was worth her time.
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
She studied him for a moment longer, searching for doubt in his stance, hesitation in his breath. Finding none, she exhaled through her nose and nodded.

“I will go with you.”

“The hunt you seek is no ordinary one. If the Unspoken One is truly what they whisper, then steel alone may not be enough. You must have knowledge, cunning… and a will stronger than its poison.”
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
Her gaze drifted to the night sky, following his to the streaking star above. A sign, perhaps, or merely a passing ember of the heavens. Either way, fate had set them on this path.

“You speak well, Strider,” she said, tilting her head slightly as she considered him. “And you listen. That is rarer than strength.”

Vishanti’s lips curled into the barest hint of a smile, amused by his flattery, yet not so easily swayed by it. Words were like arrows—some struck true, some missed, and others were merely distractions.

With a light chuckle of her own, she gave him a slight nod, her expression serious but not without warmth. “Let’s see where your path leads, friend. I am ready to walk it with you."
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
She shifted her weight, adjusting her stance as she considered the road ahead. "And remember, Udo, a warrior does not walk alone, even when they walk alone."
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
His words were not those of someone who had given up, but of someone who was ready to face whatever came next.

“Sometimes, it is the shakiness of the step that makes the journey worth taking,” she said with a small, knowing smile. “The uncertainty makes us stronger.”
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
Vishanti nodded in return, a quiet acknowledgment of his resolve. She saw it in his eyes—the same glimmer of determination that drove every warrior to keep moving forward, even when the path ahead was unclear.

"...I understand."

It had taken the dragon a few moments to reply, digesting Vishanti's words fully. He craved help, but wanted to make the choices that led to his goal by himself. The goal could reveal something horrible, but having not known his own lot in life was a horror in itself. +

Vishanti studied him for a moment, her sharp gaze not just seeing the words he spoke, but the quiet doubt behind them. The way his shoulders shifted, the way his breath seemed to catch just before his question left his lips.

There was no time to spare, or he would die.

Immediately, Vishanti grabbed a few herbs from her satchel, grinding it with her bare hands to extract it's sap.

"Careful, open your mouth." She gently held him up, making him drink the sap from her hand.

With the sounds coming closer, the smell of dragon's fire filled the air soon a man emerged from the woodline. The man was no older than 25 and was rather large for a human.

He attempted to speak. He didn't have the strength to do, so he fell, falling unconscious.

The jungle was alive with the sounds of the night—whispers of leaves shifting in the wind, the distant call of a hunting beast, and the crackling of a nearby fire. Vishanti knelt beside the flames, sharpening her dragon-scale blade with slow, practiced strokes.

"A sword is a warrior's weapon, you wield it, yet it isn't precise."

Her own hand resting against the hilt of her dragon forged sword, not meant to draw, yet almost as if it was an extension of herself.

He stands unwavering, his sword still pointed at her.

“What do you want?”

He didn’t know if she was a friend or an enemy, his father had met many people and made many friends. But she was unfamiliar to him.
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
She watched his movements with her sharp eyes, seeing the way he gripped his sword.

Her dark bronze skin glistening in the light of the moon, and her golden eyes staring him down with a dominating presence.

"I am Vishanti, a warrior of my people, guardian of the old ways."
warrioroftheforest.bsky.social
Her gaze softened, just a fraction. “I will stand with you, Udo. As a fellow warrior. But it will be your steps, your decisions, that carve your path.”

A slight smirk tugged at the edge of her lips. “I will help, but you must also be ready to help yourself.”
