The claim that society is patriarchal is a little like a woman sitting in the back of a car giving directions to a male chauffeur, only to arrive at her destination and complain that she was kidnapped.
I just don’t know how to respond to the normally excellent @mrjamesob.bsky.social when he presents boys as a sort of self-perpetuating problem that needs to be named and shamed. And worse, he uses a work of fiction to help justify his position.

It’s all so wrong headed, regressive and depressing.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social you’re using the exact same logic as the racists: blaming the whole for the actions of a minority; treating the majority with something like contempt.

Should we have classes for UK Muslims because jihadists exist? Or would that be offensive?

But it’s OK, it’s just boys.

Remember Trump only has 3 years left.
At most.

Yes @mrjamesob.bsky.social it is class. We never had our revolution. Too many people still believe that a person’s moral worth is found in the weight of their money.

It’s why Andrew Windsor is still free and Johnson isn’t in jail.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Labour won their ‘landslide’ on just 32.1% of the vote. The biggest reason to back them (as I cheerfully did) was to defenestrate the Tories.

They had five years. They had time to be bold and unpopular and recover. They have squandered their opportunity.

Over the last 1000 years, have a guess at how many of our 61 monarchs were born here with parents and grandparents who were British.

That’s 50 kings and 11 queens.

How many could claim just two prior generations of English stock?

One.
Elizabeth II.

Bloody foreigners eh?!

What would be funny… given that it’s Biden’s framework pushed through by Trump… is if the Nobel committee awarded the peace prize jointly to both presidents.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social has it exactly right this morning. I have been asking for days for someone to explain why opposing genocide makes anyone fear for their safety. No one could. It’s an entirely disingenuous, bad faith position aimed at closing down debate.

So here is my question. Let’s assume Miller & Co. are successful, i.e., they deport, jail, kill, all of the “undesirables.” What do they think society is like then? Like, what happens when they realize there’s still crime, drugs, and no one around to do half the jobs, from manual to skilled labor?1/
