No tariffs, no taxes, no entry fee — the Great Lakes waters keep working for Canada , US and First Nations as the foundation of economy, culture and health. To do harm to these waters is to do harm to ourselves. ⁦‪@swimdrinkfish‬⁩ @biinaagami

Have a great Canadian Thanksgiving everyone. Remember to be grateful for swimmable drinkable fishable and all the paths we have created to keep it that way. @swimdrinkfish

Agonized over many Blue Jay losing seasons with good friends and humour. The friends and humour is all that matters. But a win over Yankees tonight would be something to toast.

Fantastic to have our Shared Circle Biinaagami Chair Patrick Madahbee on Kingston’s waterfront greeting Mayor Paterson after shoreline clean-up. Lake Ontario brings us together. @swimdrinkfish

Great to see swimming taking over again as efforts to treat sewage & keep pollutants out of water improve. The ecosystem benefits most from swimmable water. Chicagoans Avoided Their ‘Filthy’ River for Years. On Sunday, They Swam in It. - The New York Times www.nytimes.com/card/2025/09...
Chicagoans Avoided Their ‘Filthy’ River for Years. On Sunday, They Swam in It.
Decades of work to clean the Chicago River culminated with the first swim in almost 100 years. It was the latest sign of how the city’s relationship with its river has changed.

Beautiful photo by Jennifer Ruddy of swimmers in Lake Ontario off the Gord Edgar Downie Pier in Kingston. The best things in life are free. We just need to work harder to ensure everyone has access to them by keeping our waters clean. @swimdrinkfish

Walked Kingston waterfront today. Beautiful. And so many special places that encourage and support connection to the Lake. For sure — one of the best waterfronts anywhere. @swimdrinkfish Thanks for helping show the way.

New location for sign at Gord Edgar Downie Pier. A little restoration as well. Best urban swimming park in Canada with deep water access and shallow water wading on Lake Ontario in Kingston.@swimdrinkfish

Spectacular late summer moon over Lake Ontario. Subtle reminder, always better to light a candle than curse the darkness

All the effort we’ve put into cleaning our water was never just about pollution. It was about restoration. It was about bringing people back to the water’s edge—where ecosystems, wildlife, and communities can thrive together. @swimdrinkfish @swimguide

Last week with the raft on the River. Happy to know Canada’s investments over last few decades into clean water means more waters are swimmable drinkable and fishable. Also, more opportunities available for parks and beaches to include water access. Truly a sign of improvement over the last 30 years

Very sad to learn of passing of Ken Dryden. Last time I heard him speak was at ⁦‪@westendphoenix‬⁩ event. So smart, generous, insightful and caring. Great Canadian. His most recent book was very good. Read if get chance

Lots of signs of end of summer with water in St Lawrence dropping and birds, like these Loons, starting to congregate. Such a beautiful time of year to be attentive. @swimdrinkfish

Great day working on Island. The weather is cool, colour of river changing to turquoise, frogs hopping along shore, feeling lucky under our horseshoe front door. @swimdrinkfish
