The original Animal Crossing on GameCube had fully playable NES games hidden inside. Stuff like Donkey Kong, Excitebike, and Balloon Fight. Players essentially got a mini retro collection for free.

What’s your favourite hidden bonus or Easter egg in a game?
No game has ever divided players quite like The Last of Us Part II.

Were you emotionally wrecked, totally hooked, or left feeling betrayed?
In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the development team initially experimented with first-person camera perspectives before ultimately choosing third-person to better showcase Link’s character and gear.

How do you think iconic games would feel if their camera perspectives were flipped?
You’ve got one game to replay for the first time with no memory of ever playing it before.

What game would you choose to experience all over again, completely fresh?
The original Halo: Combat Evolved was nearly a real-time strategy game before it became the FPS icon we know today.

What do you think about the CE remake?

Which was your favourite?
Totally understandable. I’ve often got stuck on those offering player discovery, and that’s just as frustrating. Makes it worth while when you figure it out though I guess 😅
Games like Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn offer zero hand-holding, relying entirely on player discovery.

Do you prefer games that guide you or ones that let you figure everything out on your own?
Never played Saboteur, but do like the GTA style. Is the original still playable?

The Nintendo Switch 2 continues to sell out fast with restocks happening in the UK via Amazon & Currys. Looks like new bundles with Donkey Kong Bananza hit shelves July 17.

Monster Hunter Wilds just reintroduced underwater combat for the first time since 2011 along with returning monsters Lagiacrus and Seregios. Do you think bringing back classic mechanics like this enhances modern games, or should developers focus solely on new innovations?
Helldivers 2 is coming to Xbox Series X and S next month!!!
Just not sure if new tech like Starlink could make it possible in that timeframe? Or maybe the console itself will become integrated into the TV
With cloud gaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and PlayStation Plus Premium on the rise, do you think traditional consoles will become obsolete in the next five years?
