The good news: in just 3 days, heads of state will meet in Brussels to set the political direction. That means there’s still a narrow window to influence what happens next.

We’re already seeing terrifying images from the US. Dawn raids. Families torn apart. Communities living in fear.
This law would move Europe closer to that reality and it’s happening fast.
December 15, 2025 at 11:37 AM
Something big is happening in Europe and most people haven’t heard about it yet.

EU governments are rushing through a new deportation law. It would make it easier to detain people, send them to countries they’ve never known, and outsource deportations to private companies and third countries.

If we act now, we can help end the rule that lets a few countries block the whole world.

End the Plastic Era!
Right now, just a few powerful polluters are holding the whole world hostage - stopping a Plastics Treaty that could protect our health, wildlife, and planet. Join me today and speak up for a strong…

More and more respected environmental groups now publicly support ending unanimity.
✊ This is exactly what our petition has been asking for and it’s quickly becoming the leading solution to finally unlock a strong, global plastics treaty.

They are now calling on the UN to use a rule that already exists:
If consensus is impossible, countries should vote instead of letting one or two governments freeze progress.
December 14, 2025 at 7:30 AM
Since the rules require everyone to agree, this tiny minority was able to block the entire process.

After this failure, 166 organisations from around the world published a joint letter.
Their message was clear:
“If a few countries can stop 180 others, the system is broken.”
December 14, 2025 at 7:30 AM
Almost the whole world (around 180 countries) has been trying to agree on a Global Plastics Treaty to reduce plastic production and pollution.

But at the last meeting in Geneva, the talks collapsed.
A small group of oil and plastic dependent countries kept saying “no” to every strong measure.

More countries are now supporting a global moratorium and the momentum is finally shifting. Together we can protect the deep before the industry even begins.

But here is the good news. After huge public pressure, Norway has paused its Arctic deep sea mining plans for several more years. This shows the movement is working and governments are starting to rethink deep sea mining.
December 13, 2025 at 8:30 AM
Companies are pushing to open the deep ocean for mining even though it is one of the most fragile and least understood places on Earth. Scientists warn that mining could wipe out species, harm whales and disturb the ocean’s ability to store carbon.

Protect Our Food From Toxic Pesticides
The EU is preparing a gift for pesticide giants, and a nightmare for the rest of us. A new proposal could let toxic pesticides, including glyphosate, stay on the market forever.Yes, forever…

December 11, 2025 at 9:11 AM
If this proposal goes ahead, toxic pesticides could stay on the market indefinitely while companies walk away with the profits. But because we uncovered this plan early, we still have time to raise public pressure before it becomes official. When people speak up together, EU leaders cannot ignore it
December 11, 2025 at 9:11 AM
At the same time, a recent study shows harmful chemicals in everyday cereal products across Europe. These substances come from pesticides that end up in our food, our water and our bodies. Children and families are the most exposed.
December 11, 2025 at 9:11 AM
Something big is happening in Europe right now and you probably have not heard about it. ⬇️

In a few days, the EU Commission is expected to publish a proposal that would give pesticide companies a much easier path to keep their products on the market with far fewer safety obligations. ⚠️

and Carlo Calenda from Renew in Italy posted the EU flag on social media to show unity and support for EU institutions.

This fine proves that public pressure works. Now we need more people with us.

MEPs reacted very quickly. Some like Damian Boeselager spoke out strongly and warned that a divided Europe is easy to intimidate.

Other MEPs such as Terry Reintke from the Greens in Germany, Nadia Calviño from Spain who is President of the European Investment Bank,

This means a very rich man publicly threatened public servants who were doing their job and questioned the EU’s right to exist.

Soon after this, X deactivated the advertising account of the European Commission. Many people saw this as an attempt to pressure the EU and stop it from applying the law.

Last week the EU fined X for breaking important transparency rules.

The fine was 120 million euros.

After the fine, Musk went on the offensive. He attacked EU officials and suggested that he might punish the people who enforced the rules.

On 4 December, that silence broke. Eko, CIWF and Eurogroup for Animals, together with key MEPs, hosted a historic meeting where our community’s engagement and WeMove’s campaigning were highlighted as decisive in pushing this issue onto the EU agenda.
