A Red Lake Ojibwe descendant was snatched by ICE in Minneapolis, and a Plains Cree woman was questioned.
This is in addition to the four Oglala Lakota men who reportedly were grabbed by ICE.

Aaron is the second white male journalist in Minneapolis in the past hour that has used the word "occupation" to describe the ongoing situation.

I cannot imagine what it must be like to be a female, trans or visible minority journalist there right now

Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.

not a fan of the fever pitch we're approaching with all of this lowkey
I think it's a bad sign that every major news media outlet has spent days asking whether or not murder is bad and how much child porn is an okay amount

The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.

THE OPEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF GRIEF IS A POLITICAL ACT.
One of the things that genuinely shocked me as I read through surveillance logs for the police is how much of their energy and attention is dedicated to shutting down vigils and other ceremonies of remembrance.
Anyway ICE was filmed desecrating Renee Nicole Good’s memorial & doing violence to people who found that distasteful. Might be too soon to say if this falls into some kind of pattern of behavior if you’re the stupidest motherfucker on earth.

THIS.
Babes. Grief is a well of power *they do not have.*
They dismiss and destroy memorials because they are frightened by what it can fuel in us.

Harness it.

#Minneapolis: Barricades have been put up by community members to create an autonomous grieving zone on the block that Renee Good was killed by federal agent Jonathan Ross yesterday. At least one protest is planned for tonight and healing circles are happening.

Local assisted living facilities are taking additional security measures because the residents don’t want their care to be interrupted when ICE abducts their staff. Schools are closed for the safety of students, faculty, and staff. There is no facet of society or stage of life unaffected.

Listen: I had cancer in my central nervous system.

Don’t be cavalier about keeping yourself in traumatic arousal.
You don’t have to keep watching any death videos. It doesn’t make you more empathic or connected

Atp, I’m suspicious of all these news outlets replaying the video & showing us new angles

You know what happened already. This is not for your benefit

You don’t have to watch anything

Esp if you know it’s a trigger & you don’t got tools/access to community to regulate yourself

We need to be in better relationships with our bodies

There are options other than ignore vs I have to take this trauma directly to the face

It's incredibly demoralizing to constantly see the highest institutions of government and academia and the most important and widely seen news outlets knuckle under one after another, but then to see the gulf between that and the bravery of communities and neighbors and teachers - that's something

Again, it should surprise no one, AOC is the best voice in America on a critical issue.
Rep. @AOC: I understand that Vance believes shooting a young mother of three in the face three times is an acceptable America that he wants to live in, and I do not. That is a fundamental difference between Vance and I. I do not believe that the American people should be assassinated in the street.
